This article discusses the relevance of integrating financial education with basic mathematics in the curriculum of elementary schools, especially in the final years. Initially, we address the concepts, importance and objectives of financial education. Next, we identify essential content to be taught in this context. We propose the application of gamification and project methodologies to make learning more meaningful and dynamic, suggesting a playful activity as an example. We also briefly discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with teaching financial education, concluding with the results of our research.
