This article aimed to analyze the effects of the low representation of the black population in legal careers, notably in State Public Prosecutors' Offices and Public Defenders' Offices, as a challenge to the principle of equality. The applied methodology was explanatory research, using various data to increase familiarity with the topic under discussion and to highlight problems and hypotheses. Additionally, an effort was made to identify the causes underlying the issue in question, employing a hypothetical approach, in which the concatenation of organized premises forms the conceptual framework of the topic. It is essential to explore the underrepresentation of the black population in legal careers, especially when related to Public Bodies responsible for defending the legal order and the unalienable interests of society, as well as in relation to the provision of judicial and extrajudicial legal assistance to the needy, both of which are essential for the maintenance of the Democratic Rule of Law, especially considering the constitutional right to social equality, which is essential for the maintenance of Brazilian society.
