Abstract

This article brings information about the challenges that mental disorders bring to people's lives, especially in the educational area, transforming schooling with new perspectives on how to deal with these problems, from the impact that the pandemic has had on our lives making us dependent on technologies and the “internet” being a positive and negative point, because in addition to helping us with information, they can cause deficits due to exacerbated use. It is with psychopedagogy that a range of possibilities opens up that streamline the school space aiming at new knowledge in an egalitarian way, breaking taboos and stereotypes about mental problems, giving place to the student as an active subject, discovering codes and concepts that can intervene in their profile in contemporary society, using pillars such as the BNCC to diversify methodologies and the curriculum, providing a more didactic teaching-learning, bringing innovative proposals that maximize interdisciplinarity. The problem was formulated due to mental disorders which create barriers that prevent people from understanding the subjects, thus causing delays: Do technologies increase psychological problems? Do current methodologies help to eliminate them? Are schools able to investigate these problems with the help of psychopedagogy? What is the role of professionals in this regard? In this way, the aim of the article is to innovate pedagogy; to guarantee better support for students; to demystify taboos and stereotypes about the subject and to warn of possible cases of psychological problems in contemporary times. The methodological procedures are based on bibliographies by authors such as Almeida (2001), Coser (2003), Dalgalarrondo (2019), among others. Finally, it is necessary to have empathy when explaining this topic, developing humanistic relationships, because we all have rights and duties and education is no different, opening up new paths in this ideological journey.
