Abstract

This article analyzes the potential use of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA), popularly known as drones, in water rescue operations conducted by the Paraná Military Fire Department (CBMPR). The research is based on a literature review and documented experiences in other fire departments in Brazil and abroad. The current legislation for drone operation in Brazil is analyzed, highlighting the DJI Matrice 350 RTK model, emphasizing flight autonomy, wind resistance and potential capacity for transporting rescue materials. It is concluded that, if inserted into specific operational protocols and operated by trained teams, drones could significantly increase the efficiency of water rescue operations.
