Homeopathy, recognized as a medical specialty in Brazil, still faces challenges in its consolidation in undergraduate medical education. The present study, with a qualitative and exploratory approach, aimed to analyze the inclusion of homeopathy in medical education, focusing on the perspective of teachers and the impact of this inclusion on the training of future professionals. Through interviews with homeopathy professors from various higher education institutions, we sought to identify the challenges and potential of including homeopathy in medical training, as well as the role of homeopathy as an integrative and complementary practice in the SUS. The results reveal that homeopathy, despite being recognized as a medical specialty, still faces challenges in its consolidation in undergraduate education. Teachers highlight the importance of homeopathy for training a more humanized and comprehensive professional, capable of understanding health in its complexity. However, the lack of adequate infrastructure, prejudice on the part of some colleagues and resistance from the pharmaceutical industry are obstacles that need to be overcome. The research concludes that homeopathy has a fundamental role to play in medical training, and that its inclusion in undergraduate education is a crucial step towards building a fairer, more equitable and comprehensive healthcare system.
