Special education is a field that requires inclusive pedagogical practices to ensure the integral development of students with disabilities, global developmental disorders, or high abilities. However, the implementation of these practices depends directly on teacher training, which often faces significant challenges in dealing with classroom diversity. This study aims to analyze the importance of effective teacher training for special education, highlighting the main challenges faced by teachers and proposing strategies to overcome them. Through a literature review, it was identified that both initial and continuing teacher training present gaps, such as outdated curricula, a lack of focus on inclusive practices, and a shortage of practical experiences. To address these challenges, the study proposes revising teacher training curricula, strengthening continuing education, and promoting practical experiences. It is concluded that investing in teacher training is essential to ensure inclusive and quality education, preparing teachers to meet the demands of classroom diversity. This work contributes to the academic and practical discussion, offering insights for the development of more effective policies and practices in the field of special education.
