This article explores the integration of Digital Information and Communication Technologies (DICTs) in the Brazilian educational context, emphasizing the need for educators to adapt to the new demands brought about by the digital transformation. The research analyzes the historical evolution of technology in education, highlighting the importance of normative documents such as the Law of Guidelines and Bases (LDB) and the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) in promoting the pedagogical use of DICTs. According to bibliographic research, the regular and integrated use of technologies can improve the quality of teaching and student learning, creating an environment rich in information exchange and promoting mediation between educators and students, especially in the early years of elementary school, when children undergo significant changes in their internal development process and with others, through interactivity. However, its effectiveness depends on adequate teacher training, institutional support, and the educational context. The integration of ICTs in education is an urgent need, which must be addressed in a planned manner to truly transform teaching and learning, in accordance with the demands and characteristics of the 21st century.
