This article sought to evaluate the impact of the priority use of aerobic exercises in the treatment of patients with fibromyalgia. A search was carried out on the National Library of Medicine (PubMed) and Regional Portal of the Virtual Health Library (BVS) platforms using the descriptors “Aerobic Training” and “Fibromyalgia”. The inclusion criteria used were articles published in the last 5 years (2019 - 2024); controlled clinical trial articles, free articles, with fibromyalgia and physical exercise as the main subjects considered. Articles not directly related to the topic addressed and duplicate articles were excluded from the study. A total of 20 articles were selected through the studies analyzed, it was observed that 19 articles showed that aerobic exercises such as walking, swimming and pilates were the most practiced by patients and showed great improvement in pain, fatigue, body stiffness, anxiety, mood, fatigue, sleep, depression, abduction strength, hormonal, tiredness and stress, insomnia and muscle strength. However, 1 article did not report evidence of significant benefits to patients if the practice time was less than 3 months. In conclusion, the studies indicate that the use of aerobic exercise has proven effective in treating and mitigating the harmful effects of this pathology.
