TRADITIONAL GAMES BEYOND TIME: CONTRIBUTIONS TO CHILD DEVELOPMENT

This article sought discuss the importance of games and games from our traditional recreational culture for child development. Thus, throughout the work, the contributions of playing to child development will be posted, in addition to the right to play, addressed in studies by Piaget (1971), Vygotsky (1998), Brougere (2010). The work adopts a qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews with 4 participants, born between 1946 and 1964, that is, part of the generation known as “Baby boomers”. With the data obtained, it was possible to learn about games and games that marked childhood at this time, comparing similarities and differences between the answers of each of the interviewees, as well as realizing their importance as a social, cultural and personal milestone for each of these subjects. . In the analyses, we came across important elements for reflecting on traditional games, also known in a way, a little bit of the childhood of the “Baby boomers”.
