This study addressed the characteristics, advantages, and challenges of the Web Curriculum and curricula in Distance Education (DE) in the current technological context. The research sought to answer the question: What are the characteristics, advantages, and challenges of the Web Curriculum and curricula in EAD in the current technological context? The objective was to analyze how these approaches can contribute to the development of pedagogical practices in distance education. The methodology used was bibliographic, with data collection in academic databases, such as Scielo and Google Scholar, using keywords related to the topic. The research analyzed works and articles that discuss curricular planning in the digital environment, considering its flexibility, personalization, and technological integration. In the development, the benefits of the Web Curriculum were identified, such as greater accessibility and personalization of learning, in addition to its contribution to educational inclusion. However, challenges such as inequality in access to technologies and the need for specialized teacher training were also highlighted. These issues were analyzed in relation to their impact on the contemporary educational model. In the final considerations, it was concluded that the Web Curriculum has significant potential to transform distance education, but faces limitations that require investments in infrastructure, training and inclusive public policies. The study contributed to consolidating the understanding on the topic, suggesting the need for additional research to explore practical solutions and evaluate its applicability in different contexts.
