Abstract

The precariousness of teaching work is a problem that affects many states in Brazil, including the State of Amazonas. This issue involves a series of challenges and reflections on the working conditions of teachers in the region. One of the main issues that contribute to the precariousness of teaching work in Amazonas is the insufficient remuneration of teachers. Many educators receive low salaries, which hinders their quality of life and motivation to perform their duties. Many schools in the region face infrastructure problems, such as overcrowded classrooms, lack of teaching materials, and precarious physical facilities. This makes the work environment for teachers less conducive to quality teaching. This work has as its theme: Precariousness of teaching work: Reflections on the reality of two schools in the state of Amazonas, a research carried out in the period 2023-2024. The research carried out is characterized as exploratory-descriptive, since it “describes the behavior of phenomena”, establishes relationships between variables, and allows the researcher to maximize his/her knowledge about a given phenomenon or problem (TRIVINÖS, 1990). The approach is both qualitative and quantitative, adopting documentary research and operationalized survey through analyses as technical procedures. Thus, through the classification of sources, it is possible to carry out a qualitative judgment complemented by a “comparative statistical study” (FONSECA, 1986). The main results show that in order to minimize the precariousness of teaching work in Amazonas, government and civil society actions are necessary. Investments in education, improvement of working conditions, appreciation of education professionals and support for continuing education are some of the measures that can contribute to quality education in the region.
