This study analyses the challenges, processes, and educational impacts related to the implementation of the Student Performance Assessment (ADE) in Manaus's municipal schools between 2017 and 2019. The objective is to understand how structural, pedagogical, and institutional factors influenced the evaluation process and its potential to improve teaching quality. The research adopts a deductive, qualitative, and exploratory approach, using document analysis and quantitative data provided by the Evaluation and Monitoring Division. The study investigated challenges such as regional inequalities, logistical limitations, and institutional resistance, as well as processes involving planning, execution, and the pedagogical use of results. The identified impacts include advancements in learning monitoring and school planning, although effectiveness was hindered by gaps in teacher training and structural inequalities. The data showed a punctual increase in Mathematics performance but highlighted disparities between urban and riverside schools. The analysis concludes that, despite its limitations, ADE significantly contributed to educational management, emphasising the need for greater integration between evaluation, teacher training, and public policies. As a proposal, strengthening teacher training, increasing investment in infrastructure, and adapting strategies to regional specificities are suggested. This study contributes to the debate on evaluation policies and reinforces the importance of structured actions to promote educational equity. Thus, ADE emerges as a relevant tool for transforming teaching in Manaus, yet adjustments are required to achieve greater effectiveness.
