'Freedom' is a recurrent term with a central character in most of the modern philosophical approaches, from which they derive as the most diverse elucubrations. Investigated in a deeper way by philosophy, without ever disregarding the various conflicts in the metaphysical and theological fields, this concept has been politically and socially constructed. In this sense, the present work seeks, therefore, to scrutinize some of Spinoza's main works, considering the distinction between metaphysical and political writings. Thus, it focuses mostly on its metaphysics and mentioning the central aspects of its political theory, so that it can evidence, at least in the context of the century, the discussion and clash in which the most diverse modern authors will be occupied in posterity.
