Abstract

This article aims to analyze the challenges and significance of including Indigenous and Afro-Brazilian cultures in primary education, addressing educational practices through a decolonial and anti-racist perspective. Based on a literature review and an analysis of Laws 10.639/03 and 11.645/08, the study emphasizes the importance of valuing the historical and cultural contributions of these groups as a strategy to combat structural racism and promote a fairer society. The research presents innovative pedagogical strategies, such as the use of archaeology, the arts, and African philosophy, and argues that continuous teacher training is essential for transforming the school environment into a space of inclusion and respect for Brazil's cultural diversity.
