This is an article with the objective of describing the experiences of a mandatory Psychology internship at CAPS I in the municipality of Garopaba and reflecting the meaning of consolidating training in the face of the student-professional transition. The method consisted of an experience report based on the experience and observations of an intern. The records were made in a field diary, which made it possible to analyze the entire training journey. The results present the context of the service, the activities carried out by the intern and those offered by CAPS to make up the Singular Therapeutic Project. The discussions reflected reception as an activity in which the team evaluates whether the user will be accompanied by the service and the place of psychotherapy in the daily work of a psychologist. The conclusions indicate that CAPS is a significant training space for the theoretical-practical consolidation of psychology by permeating a professional identity in the field of public health of the Unified Health System, guided by expanded clinical practice, ethics and public policy.
