This research aimed to investigate the contributions of teaching practice in early childhood education to teaching and learning, analyzing the methodological strategies used by teachers and the importance of continuing education. In this process, the importance of play to stimulate children's autonomy and cognitive, social, emotional and motor development was identified, with approaches that consider the profile of the class, the use of different resources and the flexibility of planning, adapted to meet the individual needs of students, promoting an inclusive environment and respecting learning rhythms. The research approach is qualitative and was carried out with two teachers, one from the public school system and the other from the private school system, in the city of escada-pe, using interviews and observation. This study contributes significantly to the reflection on teaching practice in early childhood education, highlighting the importance of play as a fundamental tool for the integral development of children. The results of this research can serve as a basis for future research and as an incentive for the implementation of public policies that value the continuing education of teachers and the use of playful pedagogical practices in the classroom, aiming to guarantee quality education for all children.
