The Civil Construction Industry (ICC) plays a fundamental role in the socioeconomic development of Brazil, being responsible for infrastructure works, specialized services and buildings. Its relevance is highlighted with urbanization, meeting demands for mobility, housing and sanitation, although it involves complex processes and several inputs. Reinforced concrete structures stand out among the widely used construction techniques. This material, composed of aggregates, water and Portland cement, is reinforced with steel to withstand tensile forces. In this context, slabs are two-dimensional reinforced concrete elements, characterized by predominant length and width in relation to thickness, and are also called plates. Therefore, the following problem-question has been raised to guide this research: what is the most viable type of slab, in financial terms, considering the solid, the prefabricated lattice with EPS filling and the one with ceramic tile filling? The objective of the study is to investigate which type of slab is most viable, in financial terms, considering the solid slab, the precast lattice slab with EPS filling and the slab with ceramic tile filling. The specific objectives are: to discuss the main characteristics of solid slabs; to discuss the main characteristics of precast slabs with ceramic tile and EPS filling; to analyze the cost composition of the slabs studied, in terms of labor and materials, according to the available literature; to conduct a case study by comparing labor and material costs for the slabs under study. The results show that the absolute values are R$ 36,130.83, R$ 33,109.66 and R$ 40,359.92 for LPMEPS (Precast Slab with EPS Filling), LPMLC (Precast Slab with Ceramic Tile Filling) and LM (Solid Slab), respectively. In view of this, LPMLC is the most viable, with a differentiation of R$ 3,021.17 for the one with EPS and R$ 7,250.26 for the solid one.
