Abstract

Artificial intelligence has been a great ally in nursing care. However, the question has been raised: what are the impacts of the complete incorporation of artificial intelligence in nursing care in terms of effectiveness, efficiency, and quality of care, taking into account ethical and human aspects? From this perspective, this article aims to analyze the impacts associated with the excessive dependence on artificial intelligence in nursing care, including issues of reliability and safety. It sought to contextualize the process of introducing artificial intelligence into the nursing profession, understand the role of nurses in this new reality of AI, and finally, verify the ethical impacts on the relationship between nursing professionals and patients regarding the use of AI. A qualitative bibliographic analysis methodological approach was used, based on publications from the last 10 years on platforms such as SciElo, university repositories, and the Virtual Health Library (VHL). The results show an improvement in operational efficiency, diagnostic accuracy and treatment planning with the integration of artificial intelligence in nursing care, a concern for ethical issues that need to be systematized and legally supported, safeguarding patient privacy and equity in humanized health care.
