Introduction: Parental alienation is a harmful family dynamic that occurs when one parent influences the child's perception of the other parent. This practice is common in situations of separation and desires and can lead to significant psychological impacts on child development, affecting the child's emotional and behavioral well-being. Understanding these effects is essential to protect the mental and emotional health of the children involved. Objective: This article aims to evaluate the psychological impacts of parental alienation on child development and propose measures that can mitigate the damage caused to the child's childhood. Methodology: This study aims to investigate the psychological impacts of parental alienation on child development, using a qualitative approach. The research will consist of a selection of articles, books and dissertations on the subject, covering different perspectives and experiences of children affected by parental alienation. Data collection will be carried out through a bibliographic review, analyzing the existing literature on the perceptions of those involved and the effects of alienation on children. Results: The results indicated that parental alienation is associated with a variety of psychological problems in children, such as anxiety, depression, and socialization difficulties. Children affected by this dynamic often present challenges in interpersonal relationships and in building healthy bonds. Early intervention and adequate psychological support were identified as fundamental to mitigate these negative impacts, provide an emotionally healthy environment, and promote the recovery of children. Conclusion: The psychological impacts of parental alienation on child development are profound, affecting children's emotional and behavioral health. Early detection and implementation of appropriate guidance are crucial to minimize the damage caused by parental alienation. This study reinforces the need for more research in this area to develop strategies that help children overcome the challenges associated with parental alienation and ensure their well-being.
