FROM THE ORIGIN OF ELECTRICITY IN BRAZIL TO THE ARRIVAL OF PHOTOVOLTAIC ENERGY

The bibliographical research presented through this academic article has as its background the brief description of the history of electricity production and distribution in Brazil, behind a brief summary of the service operation initiated by the Light group and the Amforp group between the years of 1880 and 1890. The goal established by the UN through the 2030 Agenda is also addressed, regarding the transition to clean energy accessible to all through SDG 7. And finally, we highlight photovoltaic energy as a source of clean energy and the impasses related to the full expansion of its use by Brazilian consumers in all regions. This article, in addition to bringing to its literature key authors relevant to the topic, proposes in its scope to promote awareness, both of the need for technological advancement for energy production through renewable sources, and of the need for conscious consumption by society which has demanded more and more of this production.
