Transparent orthodontic aligners offer advantages such as improved facial aesthetics, functional efficiency, improved oral health, and reduced treatment time. In addition, they maintain the traditional principles of ideal occlusion, which can be integrated into the treatment of parafunctions. The objective of this study is to analyze whether these orthodontic devices help in the treatment of bruxism. Thirty-nine articles were found in the search platforms: Pubmed, Bvs, Scopus, and Google Scholar, in the last 5 years, of which 10 articles were selected. The impact of transparent orthodontic aligners on masticatory muscle activity, pain, and bruxism is seen in the literature, highlighting their effectiveness and patient adaptation to treatment. Studies reveal positive effects on occlusion and muscle symmetry, without exacerbating bruxism symptoms or significant discomfort in the short term. Therefore, orthodontic aligners offer temporary benefits in muscle and occlusal activity, without aggravating bruxism symptoms. Future research should explore their long-term effects.
