USE OF ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES AMONG UNIVERSITY STUDENTS IN NORTHERN BAHIA: LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract

The theme of this research is: ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE (EC): Exploring knowledge about its use among university students in northern Bahia. The general objective seeks to clarify the damage to respiratory health associated with the use of electronic cigarettes. To this end, the specific objectives were to analyze research data on the effects of electronic cigarette elements on respiratory health; understand the lung damage caused by the use of these devices; and propose multidisciplinary intervention strategies, which are educational and raise awareness among users about electronic cigarettes. This study is justified by the need for a more comprehensive understanding of the harmful effects of EC on respiratory health and to provide solid scientific evidence to inform public policies. The field research method was used with a quantitative approach in an exploratory descriptive study.
