Abstract

The complexity of Acute Pulmonary Edema (APE) shows that it is a potentially fatal condition that requires rapid and effective intervention. For this reason, a multi-professional approach, immediately after the patient is admitted, can help to identify early risk factors and symptoms that lead to complications. The integrated approach of the professionals involved affects the outcome of the patient's treatment. Objectives: To identify the influence of the multi-professional approach on the management and treatment of acute pulmonary edema. To evaluate the evolution of APE and identify the individual conduct of the professionals and their interference in resolving the case. Methodology: Data collection was carried out following the theme in question, where articles were selected from the last 10 years (from 2013 to 2023). The following descriptors were used: integrated healthcare, approach, assistance, case management, professionals and treatment. Results: It is essential to emphasize that the multi-professional approach, combined with the judicious use of both pharmacological and non-pharmacological disciplines, brings a promising prospect for the effective treatment of acute pulmonary edema. Conclusion: The treatment of acute pulmonary edema (APE) is a critical issue in clinical practice, given the high mortality risk associated with the condition and the need for rapid and precise interventions. Integration of care and optimization of diagnostic and early intervention processes is essential to ensure superior patient outcomes.
