PATIENT SAFETY IN AESTHETIC PROCEDURES PERFORMED BY NURSES

Nurses have expanded their field of activity in the area of aesthetic health, providing patients with physical, emotional and social well-being through their care. Patient safety is a central pillar in the healthcare sector, where healthcare risks require careful management by professionals so that they do not result in unnecessary harm. For the development of the research, the guiding question was: How can nursing contribute to the aesthetic area with quality care and patient safety? And the general objective is to analyze the role of the nurse in the context of aesthetics, with its particularity full of possibilities for action. And specific objectives, identify the specific regulations and competencies of nurses in the field of aesthetics, based on humanization and patient safety and, finally, highlight the importance of patient safety in aesthetic procedures performed by nurses. The methodology applied was an integrative review of descriptive and qualitative literature. The results were presented in a summary table of 12 publications, providing support for the discussions. The authors argued the care capacity that nurses have to act and all the possibilities of success in procedures, that regulations contribute to good service provision, with quality and safety for the patient. It is concluded that nurses contribute to improving patient self-esteem through the exercise of their profession. Safety programs must be implemented in all patient care spaces and nurses largely contribute to ensuring that the aesthetic procedure is performed with respect, confidence and quality
