This article addresses the concepts of palliative care in psychology, understanding that palliative care according to its principles demonstrates the need to have a professional who takes care of mental health since it requires meeting the health demands of illness, death and dying. . It addresses the processes of mourning, and its phases from the perspective of Elizabeth Kubler-Ross. It highlights the importance of the psychologist's role in emotional management throughout this process, providing support to patients and their families to face emotional difficulties and go through this process in a dignified manner and respecting the patients' autonomy.
