This study investigated the contribution of educational applications to the digital literacy process, with the aim of analyzing the impacts of these resources on the development of students' digital skills, the methodologies applied by educators, and the challenges faced in implementing these tools. The research adopted the literature review methodology, selecting academic sources on the topic of digital literacy and the use of educational technologies. Studies that address the effectiveness of applications in promoting reading, writing, and digital skills were analyzed, in addition to exploring the obstacles to the adoption of these tools in schools, such as the lack of specific training for educators and difficulties in accessing technology. The results indicated that educational applications are effective in improving digital literacy, promoting digital inclusion and personalized learning. However, challenges encountered, such as resistance to technology and lack of infrastructure, limit the full use of these resources. The final considerations pointed out the need for training programs for educators and greater investment in technological infrastructure so that applications can be used in schools. The research contributes to the understanding of the role of applications in basic education and suggests that studies be carried out to evaluate their effectiveness in different contexts.
