Using a theoretical approach and deductive method, the study examines the balance between freedom of expression and the limits of hate speech, evaluating the consequences of this rhetoric in the Brazilian political context. The research also discusses the effects of political extremism on democracy, addressing its implications for political activity, the maintenance of power and its repercussions on the Rule of Law. Based on a bibliographical review, the work reflects on violence as a social construction and analyzes the social and political impacts generated by extremism, seeking to understand its dimensions and effects on the polarization and weakening of democratic institutions. The study concludes that hate speech, when normalized and disseminated in political spheres, contributes to the deterioration of democratic quality and threatens social stability in Brazil.
