Introduction: Forensic Dentistry applies dental principles to legal contexts, assisting in human identification, whether in vivo or after death, and clarifying details about the cause and time of death. Forensic methods such as those of Kvaal and Cameriere, which estimate age through the analysis of dental pulp, are effective in forensic investigations. Objective: to review the scientific literature on the methods of Kvaal and Cameriere used in estimating age through analysis of dental pulp , discussing its effectiveness and relevance for expert work. Materials and methods: 30 articles found in databases such as SciELO, PubMed and Google Scholar were analyzed, selecting 16 relevant ones following inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: The Kvaal and Cameriere health estimation methods show varying results depending on the population, type of tooth and radiographic examination performed. The Kvaal method showed greater accuracy in young adults, while the Cameriere method had moderate success.
