Primary Sjögren's syndrome is a systemic autoimmune disease characterized by lymphocytic infiltration of exocrine glands, in addition to a series of systemic manifestations. Patients with this syndrome report impaired health-related quality of life, highlighting the importance of early diagnosis and treatment. Lack of knowledge about natural history and prognosis is the main limitation to the development of clinical trials or shared recommendations on this topic.
