Introduction: Prenatal imaging plays an essential role in identifying fetal anomalies, contributing to clinical management during pregnancy. Technological advancements, such as 3D/4D ultrasound and the use of artificial intelligence (AI), have enhanced the early detection of malformations and genetic anomalies. Objectives: To review the advancements and challenges in prenatal imaging, with an emphasis on the use of AI. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review conducted through databases such as SciELO, PubMed, and Google Scholar. Results and Discussion: Recent studies were selected, highlighting how AI has improved diagnostic accuracy and the quality of exams, despite challenges in technical standardization and access to advanced technologies. The importance of interdisciplinary collaboration to optimize clinical application was also noted. Conclusion: Prenatal imaging, combined with AI, represents a promising advancement, with the potential to transform maternal-fetal care, improve prognosis, and enhance the quality of life for pregnant women and babies, despite challenges in accessibility and technological integration.
