Life in the digital environment, especially related to social media, has constantly exposed personality rights to greater risks and abuse by other users. These platforms provide new forms of interaction, access to information and expression of thought, but they also facilitate the dissemination of personal data, hate speech, insults and inappropriate sharing of content, which contribute to violations of these rights. This research explores the protection of personality rights, especially the image, honor and privacy of individuals, in the digital environment, with an emphasis on the legal challenges related to the use of social media. The study is justified by the social and legal relevance of the topic, given the growing number of incidents related to hate crimes and violations of personal rights in this environment, highlighting the importance of finding a balance between freedom of expression and other protected personality rights. In addition, the study seeks to demonstrate to people their civil and criminal responsibilities when sharing offensive content not only on social media, but also on the internet as a whole. The methodology adopted involves a qualitative approach, based on bibliographic research, using books, scientific articles, the Federal Constitution and other national legislation related to the topic.
