The COVID-19 pandemic posed significant challenges to the mental health of the elderly population due to social isolation and their increased vulnerability. This study examines the psychological impacts of the pandemic, focusing on anxiety, depression, and loneliness, while exploring coping strategies and psychosocial support. The research highlights the importance of social support and resilience as protective factors, proposing interventions to promote the emotional well-being of older adults. It aims to contribute to effective public policies by analyzing the emotional and cognitive effects on individuals aged 60 and above. Additionally, it identifies risk factors such as negative perceptions of aging and information overload, which intensify psychological distress. Conversely, resilience and life satisfaction emerge as elements that reduce anxiety and depression. The study suggests that strengthening support networks and fostering resilience are effective measures to improve the quality of life and mental health of the elderly during and after the health crisis.
