THE IMPORTANCE OF UNDERSTANDING THE PROPERTIERS OF HÁ IN THE PREVENTION INTERCURRENCIES

Abstract

Hyaluronic acid is one of the most used temporary dermal fillers in facial aesthetics. Its use brings several benefits to patients and its side effects are minimal. However, there are also complications associated with the use of this product, which highlights the need for an in-depth understanding on the part of the professional applicator about the physical and chemical properties of HA. Thus, this study aimed to present the importance of knowledge regarding the properties of HA for professional applicators, addressing the best injection practices, adequate dosage and selection of HA crosslinking. A bibliographical search was carried out in the Scielo, Lilacs, Pubmed, Bireme and Google Scholar databases to collect the data necessary for the review. The research results made it possible to present the different types of acid, their characteristics, their uses and indications in facial aesthetics, their contraindications and complications and other knowledge necessary for the ejector professional. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that the application of appropriate techniques and anatomical knowledge in the application of HA are fundamental to the success and safety of aesthetic procedures with HA. Lack of knowledge on the part of professionals represents a significant risk to patient safety.
