FORENSIC DENTISTRY: BITE ANALYSIS IN CASES OF CHILD ABUSE AND NEGLECT

This article aims to analyze the role of the forensic dentist in analyzing bites in cases of child abuse and mistreatment. The Pubmed, Scielo and Lilacs indexers were used as databases to select articles, using the descriptors “dental”, “analysis”, “bite”, “child”, “abuse” and “forensic”. It is concluded that forensic dentistry involves a social and ethical responsibility in protecting victims, especially children, a vulnerable group in cases of violence, contributing significantly to public health, promoting justice and protection for those who need it the most.
