Objective: This study aimed to present the main techniques and interventions of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the treatment of Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) in adolescence. Method: An integrative review of randomized clinical trials (RCTs) with adolescents (13-18) with Social Anxiety Disorder was carried out, selected from the main health databases Cochrane, Pubmed and Virtual Health Library (BVS), considering the last 5 years. Results: The samples analyzed suggest that CBT techniques, when adapted to the specific aspects of SAD in adolescence, promote a significant reduction in SAD symptoms. The investigation of the selected studies demonstrated that the most used assessment instruments to measure symptoms were: ADIS-C/P, ASAQ, ASBQ, ASCQ, LSAS-CA-SR, Mini-SPIN and DASS. The main techniques used in the RCTs included psychoeducation of the cognitive model, fear hierarchy, reduction of safety and avoidant behaviors, exposure, development of problem-solving skills, relapse prevention, goal review, and future planning. Conclusion: Early treatment of SAD is essential to reduce harm and suffering in the subject's adult life. Individual or group CBT, when specifically adapted for treatment in adolescents, obtained satisfactory preliminary results compared to the standard treatment established for adults. Online support has been shown not to replace structured treatment with a specialized professional, however, CBT provided over the internet through support and modules suggests that it is superior to no intervention at all. Thus, internet support suggests that it is effective for patients who have not adhered to standard treatment, in addition to offering a favorable cost-benefit ratio, being a more accessible treatment.
