Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases cause several deaths around the world and surgery is an effective alternative for treating these diseases, however, as it is complex, it almost always leads to complications. Based on this principle, physiotherapeutic intervention presents great benefits in the treatment of these patients, therefore, this article has the following theme: Cardiac Rehabilitation of Patients with Valvular Heart Disease: Benefits of physiotherapy post-surgery. This study aimed to show the effects of physiotherapy in the post-surgical rehabilitation of patients with valvular heart disease. Through a qualitative Literature Review of publications in books and electronic media from the databases Google Scholar, Scientific Electronic Library (Scielo), Pubmed, Latin American Literature in Sciences and Health (LILACS) published in the years 2014 to 2024. All Articles included in the research presented the contributions of physiotherapy in the postoperative period of cardiac surgery and the relevance of physiotherapeutic monitoring. According to the literature review, physiotherapeutic influence showed positive results regarding post-cardiac surgery recovery, providing faster surgical recovery and the patient's return to daily activities.
