Obstetric violence (OV) is a serious violation of women's rights, compromising the humanization of childbirth and female autonomy. This study aimed to analyze the importance of nursing professionals in preventing OV, given their essential role in humanized monitoring during childbirth and postpartum. This is an Integrative Review, including studies in Portuguese, free access, published between 2019 and 2024, and available in the Google Scholar database. Using the PRISMA protocol, the review identified 892 studies, of which 10 met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth. The results highlight that nurses have a crucial role in creating bonds of trust and offering dignified, safe and empathetic care. This humanized care can prevent OV and promote respect for reproductive rights. It is concluded that the continuous training of nurses and the implementation of public health policies are essential to guarantee a humanized birth. The study reinforces the need to invest in technical and ethical training for professionals, so that they can act in a transformative way and ensure a positive and respectful experience for women in labor.
