A LOOK AT THE HOMELESS POPULATION IN THE CITY OF BELÉM/PA

The situation of the population in the street situation in Brazil deserves the attention of two state bodies especially those of public security, in virtue of the victimization of crimes and violence, as well as in the illicit actions of those who are responsible. This article aims to characterize how the two services carried out by FUNPAPA/Belém in the year 2023 vary, as well as the population in the situation of the street served in the central streets of the Municipality of Belém from a public safety perspective. It was undertaken an applied, quanti-qualitative, exploratory, descriptive research with the use of bibliographic data and documents in books, scientific articles and legal norms, being processed through the technique of Content Analysis and Descriptive Statistics to demonstrate the results. The investigation, obtained as main results, is the information that the majority of the street population is male adults, with low educational level and informal occupations, meaning that the majority is user of impairing substances and was a victim of physical violence , psychological and sexual, which is concentrated in the areas of greatest circulation of financial resources and is the recipient of various social benefits of the State. Two research results propose the adoption of protocols and integrated instruments for the care of state bodies, including public security, as well as new studies relating to this vulnerable group.
