School feeding is an aspect of the federal government's public policy, aimed at basic education, with the aim of assisting in the development of learning and the construction of knowledge regarding healthy eating and habits. In this sense, the nutritionist is a fundamental professional who seeks to bring his knowledge closer to the reality of students, establishing relationships between the school context and the understanding of the importance of good nutrition, as well as building alliances between family farming, school and community culture. . In this study, we sought to analyze, through an exploratory bibliographical research, the professional/student ratio numbers, identifying the lack of nutritionists in Brazilian schools and highlighting one of the main challenges for the development of the National School Feeding Program-PNAE.
