This study addressed the question of how the use of podcasts could contribute to the teaching and learning process in the school context. The general objective was to analyze the application of podcasts in education and its implications for pedagogical practice. The adopted methodology was exclusively bibliographic, allowing an analysis of academic articles, books, and experience reports on the subject. In the development, it was found that podcasts offer flexibility and promote student engagement, in addition to enabling a new pedagogical approach. The importance of adequate teacher training for the effective implementation of this tool was also highlighted. The final considerations emphasized that, despite the favorable evidence for the use of podcasts, there is a need for new research to evaluate their impact on academic performance and educational practices. The continuity of studies may provide valuable insights into the effectiveness of podcasts in contemporary education.
