Abstract

This study investigates the fundamental rights of employees in private companies, focusing on the protection of human dignity, privacy, and fair working conditions. The objective is to analyze the horizontal effectiveness of these rights and how business practices can be improved to ensure an ethical and respectful work environment. The research was carried out through a bibliographic review of articles selected from the SciELO and Google Scholar databases, covering the period from 2011 to 2022, using descriptors such as "fundamental rights", "horizontal effectiveness", "corporate social responsibility" and "human rights". The sample included 21 articles in Portuguese. The study analyzes how the increasing use of monitoring technologies by companies impacts workers' privacy and highlights the need for internal policies aligned with the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). It also highlights corporate social responsibility as a pillar in the promotion of labor and human rights, and discusses the role of privacy protection and social justice in labor relations. The importance of the horizontal effectiveness of fundamental rights for fair working conditions was observed. The protection of employee privacy was central, highlighting data protection policies aligned with the LGPD to prevent abuse. Corporate social responsibility proved to be crucial in promoting human rights, strengthening the company's image and contributing to an inclusive society. The right to strike was analyzed as an instrument to balance power relations, highlighting the role of social dialogue. The future outlook indicates the continuous need for legal and technological adaptation, suggesting a proactive approach by companies in promoting employee rights for sustainable development. It is concluded that the consolidation of labor rights is a dynamic process, requiring social engagement for fair and dignified labor relations.
