Abstract

This article analyzed the impact of the integration between the School of Medicine (FAMED) at UFVJM and healthcare units in Diamantina, evaluating the services provided and the perceptions of professionals, patients, and interns. This exploratory study collected data in its second year, focusing on the first four years of the medical course. Data were obtained through questionnaires and service tracking by FAMED. In 2023, 903 services were recorded in the basic cycle, including territorial mapping, vaccination, patient screening, home visits, and health education. In the clinical cycle, 1,486 consultations were carried out in specialized areas in the UBSs and school clinic. A total of 245 interviews were collected, indicating high satisfaction among patients, professionals, and students with the interns' services. However, professionals had a technical view of the interns' performance, highlighting areas for improvement. The study underscores the importance of collaboration between academia and public health, providing insights for enhancing the teaching-service-community integration in Diamantina.
