INTRODUCTION: This paper analyzes the importance of effective management of endodontic emergencies, such as intense pain, edema, and apical abscesses, often resulting from deep caries or trauma. Proper management of these conditions is vital for patients' quality of life. OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study is to highlight the need for accurate diagnoses and prompt interventions in the treatment of endodontic emergencies, promoting improvements in dental care. METHODOLOGY: The methodology consists of a literature review on the management of endodontic emergencies, addressing early identification, therapeutic interventions, and post-treatment follow-up, with an emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches. RESULTS: The results indicate that primary care is essential for the early detection of endodontic problems. Additionally, pulpotomy and post-treatment follow-up are crucial for preventing flare-ups and ensuring patient satisfaction. CONCLUSION: It is concluded that continuous education for dental professionals and the implementation of evidence-based protocols are crucial for the effective management of endodontic emergencies, always aiming to improve care and patient satisfaction.
