This research focuses on "Microtransactions in Video Games: An Investigation of Revenue from Game Development Companies and the Consumption Behavior of Students at UFAM." It addresses a topic that is not widely explored but is very present in the daily lives of anyone with internet access, whether through smartphones, computers, etc. The aim of this work is to measure the behavior of students at the Federal University of Amazonas to outline a consumer profile that can guide companies in their investments and strategies to increase profits. Additionally, it seeks to identify which consumer profile shows a greater tendency to spend money on virtual items. The secondary objective consists of conducting a business analysis of game development companies, providing a basis for understanding their performance and growth prospects in the field, especially regarding microtransactions as a means of revenue generation. The methodology applied involved the analysis of financial statements, focusing on the Income Statement and the Cash Flow Statement of the selected companies. Based on the data collected, a questionnaire was conducted with UFAM students, which served as a tool to achieve the research objectives. Finally, the article concludes its objectives based on numerical data, with a quantitative and qualitative approach, and raises questions to be addressed in future research.
