This article aims to present a study on the granting of Christmas pardons as a means of aiding in the resocialization of former inmates and unclogging the Brazilian prison system. The main objective of this analysis is to understand how the granting of Christmas pardons can influence the resocialization of former inmates and collaborate with the unclogging of the Brazilian prison system, in addition to understanding society's acceptance of this issue. The methodology used consists of bibliographic and documentary research, complemented by the analysis of statistical data and review of relevant cases. This qualitative study incorporates an in-depth analysis of current legislation, relying on sources such as Google Scholar to support the discussions. Thus, it aims not only to present a diagnosis on the pardon as a way of aiding in the resocialization of former inmates and unclogging the Brazilian prison system, but also to explore the consequences of this granting for society. Furthermore, the aim is to discuss measures to raise awareness in society regarding the reception of individuals after being granted a pardon, with the aim of avoiding prejudice and ensuring that beneficiaries have equal opportunities to other citizens when being reintegrated into society.
