Abstract

This article delves into the topic of Payments for Environmental Services (PSA) in which, given the current legislation regarding the perspective of its institutionalization in the State of Rondônia, it presents a legislative retrospective until the establishment of Law No. 14,119/2021, giving visibility to projects and programs that encourage the preservation of the environment, giving sustainability a look. The PSA is a socioeconomic instrument whose objective is aimed at protecting the environment, aiming to establish monetary benefits for those who are willing to preserve the biodiversity in which it is inserted. In this light, the research seeks to evaluate the regulation of Law No. 4,437/2018 of the State of Rondônia and how it may be encouraging the application of the PSA, analyzing in line with Federal Law No. 14,119/2021, which, even late, brought parameters and regulation of the instruments. The methodology used here is bibliographical research with descriptive and exploratory classification, focused on a qualitative perspective.
