Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects the apocrine glands, characterized by the formation of painful and recurrent nodules in areas such as the armpits, groin and perianal region. Although the exact cause of HS is still unknown, genetic, hormonal and inflammatory factors play a relevant role in its development. The disease negatively impacts the quality of life of patients due to pain, social stigma and physical limitations. Objective: To evaluate the main difficulties faced by patients with hidradenitis suppurativa, proposing solutions to improve quality of life and optimize medical care. Methodology: The research used a qualitative approach based on a literature review, analyzing recent studies on HS, focusing on issues related to diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of patients. Results: The results indicate that the main difficulties faced by patients include delayed diagnosis, inadequate pain management and lack of emotional support. Conclusion: Available treatments such as antibiotics and surgery often offer temporary relief, but do not completely resolve the condition. The disease also significantly affects mental health, leading to depression and social isolation.
