Hygroma is a condition characterized by the formation of a fluid sac over a joint or bone, caused by repetitive trauma. The main symptoms include swelling in the affected area, usually without significant pain, although there may be slight lameness. In the reported case, a high-performance 24-month-old Nelore bull was attended to on a farm in the municipality of Espigão do Oeste in 2024, presenting swelling in the fetlock region and slight lameness. After the clinical examination, the diagnosis was hygroma, and the treatment consisted of aseptic fluid drainage, resulting in an improvement in swelling and the animal's mobility. The aim of this study is to report this case and discuss the impact of hygroma on the animal's aesthetics and market value.
