This article aimed to provide a detailed overview of the structure of electricity tariffs in Brazil. First, a brief introduction was made about the power system and the National Interconnected System (SIN). Next, the article introduced tariff flags, transmission and distribution tariffs, tariff modalities, taxes, and sector charges, describing the functionality of the regulatory body and establishing theoretical references for the respective items. The research is based on data and regulations from the National Electric Energy Agency and scientific articles on low-voltage electricity tariffs. The results obtained through the studies clearly explain the electricity tariff, detailing its entire composition. Additionally, an example of an electricity bill for a conventional household was provided. The importance of sustainable consumption and the benefits that such habits can bring to the economy were also highlighted. In conclusion, understanding the structure of electricity tariffs in Brazil is essential not only to clarify the associated costs but also to promote responsible and sustainable consumption practices, which can have a positive impact on both the economy and environmental preservation.
