Gluteal harmonization has become an increasing focus in aesthetics, with poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) emerging as a promising alternative to invasive surgical procedures. This article discusses the evolution of beauty standards in the gluteal region and current aesthetic approaches, including silicone implants, autologous fat transfer, and injectable fillers. PLLA, a biodegradable biostimulator, works by promoting a local inflammatory response that stimulates neocollagenesis, resulting in gradual volume increase and structural support. Randomized clinical studies have demonstrated the safety and efficacy of PLLA, with persistent aesthetic improvements and a low complication rate. Compared to other injectable substances, such as calcium hydroxylapatite and hyaluronic acid, PLLA offers long-lasting and cost-effective results. The article concludes that PLLA is a viable option for gluteal harmonization, highlighting the need for more rigorous studies to validate its efficacy and safety.
